Samara's Exciting April News

So far April has been a great month for Samara: we were recently awarded an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant and the search has begun for three exceptional individuals to join the Samara team

Samara's a proud recipient of an OTF grant!

OTF Grant 2015Samara is proud to announce that it was recently awarded a two-year Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) grant to continue its partnership with North York Community House (NYCH) creating a culture of democratic engagement using the Democracy Talks program. The grant will allow Samara and NYCH to significantly expand the reach of the Democracy Talks program in North York. In addition, Samara will be working with NYCH to create a set of resources and training materials that will be available to community based organizations throughout the GTA and beyond.

As a result of this initiative, Samara and NYCH are each hiring coordinators to support this effort. You can find the job listing for Samara here and NYCH here.

Democracy Talks is a Samara initiative that provides organizations and individuals tools to strengthen democratic engagement in communities across Canada.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and Canada's largest granting foundation.

And, Samara is hiring!

It's an exciting time in the Samara office—we have three new jobs available!

We're looking for a contract Program Coordinator to strengthen Samara's Democracy Talks outreach efforts—a position that has been made possible because of the OTF's generous funding.

Meanwhile, we're searching for a full-time Community Animator who will mobilize Samara's Everyday Political Citizens to create a culture of more positive politics and animate our social media properties, among other responsibilities. Our present Community Animator, Mark, will be leaving us this summer for law school.

Last—but by no means least—we're on the hunt for a skilled freelance graphic designer who is preferably local to Toronto, though that isn't essential.

For more information on any of the above-mentioned jobs, please visit our Work With Us page.

We look forward to hearing from you!
