Nirmala has spent years listening to the issues of people in Calgary.  She has consistently fought for the rights of every single person.  Having been born in South Africa during apartheid, it is the fight for human rights that drive her.  Nirmala spent many years as a journalist in Calgary where she brought to light issues in the political system.  Now she wants to collect the stories of the people in Calgary and bring those stories to Ottawa.  To Nirmala, every single person matters and she approaches every person with a humble honesty that comes from a place of genuine concern.
