CitizenBridge to host Social Media Week Toronto event February 16

by Fiona O'Connor

February 13-17 is Social Media Week, and the theme of this year's global convention is Empowering Change Through Collaboration. Here's a heads-up about an exciting event taking place in Toronto from our friends at CitizenBridge:

The emerging movements of OpenData, OpenGov, Democracy 2.0 and Gov 2.0 are allowing a level of transparency and engagement with your government that has never been seen before.

Without a doubt, the next few years will bring drastic changes in the relationship between you and your elected representatives and it is important to explore the implications of those changes.

CitizenBridge (www.citizenbridge.org), a non-profit and non-partisan organization specializing in Democracy 2.0, will be exploring those very implications as part of Social Media Week Toronto and you're kindly invite you to join us to learn more about this subject matter.

Where: Toronto City Hall - The Member's Lounge

When: February 16th, 2012, 5:30pm - 9 pm

Sign up for the event here today: http://socialmediaweek.org/event/?event_id=1375 (a full itinerary of the evening can be found at this link)
