Volunteering at Samara: The November Edition

As always, Samara volunteers have helped us out greatly over the last couple of months, from writing event reviews for the blog, to supporting small research tasks, to spreading the word about our work and contests. In the busy home stretch leading up to the holidays, we've got a few new volunteer opportunities to share with you, some of which were included in our volunteer newsletter from last week.

Event support for Sasha Issenberg Talk (Nov. 27)
Samara is looking for 4 more volunteers to help out at our upcoming public lecture with American journalist Sasha Issenberg, author of The Victory Lab: The Secret Science of Winning Campaigns. We are looking for an event photographer, someone to live Tweet the talk and Q&A, and two others for general event support from about 5:30 to 9:30 pm.

Database entry
Though not the most glamorous of jobs, Samara would be forever grateful to any volunteer interested in spending an afternoon with us at the office to help update our contact database. We'll treat you to lunch and promise to make database entry as fun as humanly possible!

Are you a younger nonprofit professional? Looking to strengthen and change the NFP sector?
We thought some of you might be interested in an exciting event coming up for "younger professionals" working in the non-profit field. On November 29th join Connect The Sector for their launch party at the AGO, which will include a feature talk by Lynn Eakin of the Ontario Nonprofit Network. Details for this event can be found here. Registration is required.

We look forward to hearing from anyone interested in helping out with these tasks, or any others they might like to suggest. To get involved with Samara and to receive our volunteer newsletter, shoot us an email with your CV and a couple of sentences on how you'd like to help out.
