Nominee: Susan Field

Nominator: Councillor Michael Walters

City: Edmonton

Several years ago in the Edmonton neighbourhood of Aspen Gardens, a summer crime spree was causing substantial concern in the community. Enter Susan Field. Susan realized that the best way for their community to be safe was to be informed, so she launched the Knowsy Neighbours Newsletter. Susan curates and distributes community information with lightening speed to the extensive database of contacts within the neighbourhood. A former community league president for Aspen Gardens, Susan’s dedication to supporting her neighbourhood and keeping residents informed makes her a prime example of what it means to be an Everyday Political Citizen.
