2017 EPC Nominee: Riley Peterson

Riley P EPC

Riley Peterson of Toronto, ON, was nominated by Mike Sullivan

Riley is a dynamic organizer extraordinaire.  She is the youth representative on the York South - Weston NDP riding association.  She has helped organize '$15 and Fairness' town halls, canvass blitzes, and mainstreeters.  She worked for a progressive City Councillor and a social justice lawyer.  She canvassed and assisted candidates in every election in the past 5 years, and most recently assisted a nomination contestant.  She has brought new young faces to the riding association and used social media to raise awareness of the issues we care about, like '$15 and fairness' and 'Pharmacare'.  She brings her energy to big events, too like the NDP convention, Queen's Park rallies and the NDP federal leadership contest.

She has managed all this while going to school full-time, currently studying planning at Ryerson University.  She truly cares about our democracy and helps to bring that caring to everyone she interacts with.
