2017 EPC Nominee: Kassandra Neranjan

Kassandra EPC

Kassandra Neranjan of Toronto, ON, was nominated by Arezoo Najibzadeh

I met Kassandra Neranjan at the Daughters of the Vote Summit in Ottawa earlier this year. In the short amount of time that I have known her, she has managed to teach me so much about what it means to be a leader.

Kassandra has taken part in various national & international experiences advocating for the rights of women, girls, and children around topics such as early and forced child marriages, sexual and reproductive rights of Canadian women, and Canada’s role in international development with regards to the rights of children and women. She has been an active member of Plan International Canada’s Because I am a Girl Speakers Bureau for 3 years, and a proud feminist for countless more.

But what makes Kassandra a true civic leader is her deep emotional intelligence and the willingness to share space with other women. Kassandra is a selfless and determined leader who has taught me so much about community, kindness, and respect.

Kassandra is a great example of what our political leaders should aspire to be.
