The Institute for Research on Public Policy held a gala at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The gala began with a panel discussion on race and policy-making in Canada, moderated by Carleton University’s Carty chair in journalism, diversity and inclusion studies, Nana aba Duncan. She is joined by:

  • Debra Thompson, associate professor of political science and Tier 2 Canada research chair in racial inequality in democratic societies, McGill University
  • Akwasi Owusu-Bempah, professor, department of sociology, University of Toronto and senior fellow and board chair, Massey College
  • Sabreena Delhon, executive director of the Samara Centre for Democracy
