2017 EPC Nominee: Heather Stecher

Heather Stecher of Ottawa, ON, was nominated by Lynda Giffen Clements from Sandy Hill Community Health Centre

Heather is a tireless advocate for social justice, equity and human rights. Despite living with a disability and on a disability pension, Heather attends budget meetings, is an active member of her community and local residents committee, advocates for social change and worked in support of the newly achieved Low Income Transit Pass (the Equipass) in the City of Ottawa. She has participated in the transportation equity working group, sits on the civic engagement table and has worked with the City for All Women Initiative.
