2017 EPC Nominee: Dylan Cohen

Dylan Cohen of Vancouver, BC, was nominated by Grace Kennedy 

Dylan Cohen is an advocate for youth in care of the government. In Manitoba, Dylan formed the group 25Not21 which is aimed at increasing the age of eligibility for government supports for youth in care. Dylan planned rallies and met with Ministers on an ongoing basis to elevate the voice of the group. Now in Vancouver, Dylan has been a key contributor to many initiatives looking to uphold the new BC Provincial Government's promises to kids in care, particularly, extending supports where youth are currently left on their own, through collaborative demonstrations and research. Dylan has also worked on projects aimed at bettering current services for youth in care, and regularly speaks and writes about his experience and visions for more just approaches to care.
