2017 EPC Nominee: Emily Mills

Emily Mills EPC

Emily Mills of  Toronto, ON, was nominated by Andrew Do

I know Emily Mills through being a DiverseCity Fellow at CivicAction. She started a network called Howshehustles, a network that connects 5000 diverse women to special events and to media. She is the brains behind the HerStoryinBlack project at CBC, ensuring the stories of black women are being told nationally. She is not afraid to ask the hard questions in a public forum and the room is better and richer for it. For me and I am sure many who have been privileged to see her sharp eye and the 5000 women she has helped connect, I am sure they can agree this is why she is an Everyday Political Citizen.
