Summer is upon us! We've got your political summer reads covered

This week, the House of Commons breaks for the summer. That means that barbecue and beach season is officially here (we may or may not base our seasons on the House calendar)! Now is the time to catch up on all the political reading you've wanted to do.

If you haven't had the chance to read Samara co-founders Alison Loat and Michael MacMillan's best-selling book Tragedy in the Commons, on a beach towel or lounging in a hammock (or kayak!), this summer is the time. If you have a book club, we have a guide for you

Since the launch in the fall, Paul Wells' The Longer I'm Prime Minister has gone on to win the Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing. A must read!

Nobody does fun political reads like Terry Fallis! And if ebooks are your thing, you're in luck. Get Best Laid Plans, The High Road AND Up and Down in one click. Bonus - it has an excerpt of his latest book No Relation released just last month.

And of course there's office favourite Shopping for Votes by Susan Delacourt. Described as "an insightful and provocative look at the inside world of political marketing in Canada."
