2017 EPC Nominee: Karel Vuong

Karel EPC

Karel Vuong of Toronto, ON, was nominated by Kevin Vuong

Diversity and inclusion, like democracy, require constant practice. It becomes harder when some world leaders espouse the very opposite, but it also becomes that much more necessary.

When the Muslim Ban was announced in the United States, the Canadian tech community came together to publicly denounce it. One of the key organizers of this initiative was Karel who mobilized and activated the community. But he felt like that was not enough, and that he still needed to do more.

Karel went on to create Immigrate North that showcases immigrants who have made Canada better, telling their stories and celebrating their tremendous contribution to our country.
